Freelance Mountain Leader

I am freelance Mountain leader and international mountain leader. I enjoy introducing people to the mountains and wild places enabling people to feel the social and emotional benefits from being outdoors. Most of my work is on a freelance basis I am employed by a number of outdoor organisations who offer guided walks, challenge events, skills courses & Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

As an International Mountain Leader, I have a lot of mountaineering and walking experience and as such have gained many skills. However, I am also aware of the need to add value whilst guiding, being knowledgable of the areas that I operate in and always being willing to talk about the environment being walked through. I achieve this by completing CPD courses and workshops to keep my skills and knowledge up to date and through my own personal interest.

I have only ever received positive feedback for my dependability, enthusiasm and knowledge from the work I have undertaken in both leading and training. I have outstanding customer care – interacting with customers in a way that is helpful and positive, meeting customer needs in a manner that reflects positively on both myself and the company I am working for and leaving a lasting impression. I am aware that each organisation has their own specific operating procedures and I will always be sure to work within employers guidelines for every job.

I am a full member of The British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) and the Mountain training Association (MTA) as well as a registered Director and Course Provider for the Bronze and Silver NNAS Navigation Award Scheme and I hold the NNAS Navigation Tutor Award. I have a valid Outdoor First Aid Certificate, have full public liability insurance and an enhanced DBS certificate, and my experience can be seen on my digital logbook.
